Post by Ðemì on Fri 26 Dec 2014, 8:01 pm

Feast of Winter Veil is hitting servers early Tuesday so get prepared to drink some  Winter Veil Egg Nog, sit by your  Cozy Fire, and open your  Stolen Present--wait, what? Is that a new type of present we've found in the database?

There's a new holiday gift waiting for you under this year's tree, and your Father Winter's Helper has stopped sulking and is ready for some pet battles, so this is one holiday you don't want to miss!

Changes in 2014

Warlords of Draenor 6.0.3 has added tons of things to Winter Veil, including toys, epics, and transmog items!

The Butcher in Highmaul can drop  Green Winter Hat!

With the addition of the Toy Box in Warlords of Draenor, Winter Veil is the source for many toys. There are eleven toys that can only be obtained from presents, as well as a few more toys that have the chance to be contained in presents, but can be purchased year-round from other vendors.

The most exciting part of Winter Veil comes near the end when we get our presents! The presents under Greatfather Winter's tree can be opened from December 25 to January 2. There are a total of six presents that can be "opened" by completing the quest given by the gift itself under the tree. You can open these gifts on all of your characters, you aren't limited to just one character!

Every year has brought a new special gift in the  Winter Veil Gift. This year it is the  Crashin' Thrashin' Shredder Controller!

Each of the gifts contain an assortment of special holiday items, but some gifts have level requirements:

Winter Revelers

All of Azeroth and beyond have gotten into the spirit of Winter Veil! Winter Revelers (such as Blood Elf Female Winter Reveler) can be found inside inns throughout the world located under a sprig of mistletoe. Simply /kiss a Reveler (it doesn't matter which gender) and you will be rewarded with a token of their gratitude. You can only /kiss a Reveler once every hour, as you will receive a debuff along with whatever gift they've granted you, which can include:

  •  Mistletoe

  •  Fresh Holly

  •  Handful of Snowflakes

These items are used in various Winter Veil achievements (as detailed below).

Become a Little Helper!

In addition to the Smokywood Pastures vendors located inside the cities, the goblins have set up strange PX-238 Winter Wondervolt machines which can be used to change your character into a festive Little Helper! The buff lasts for 30 minutes, and now stays when you shapeshift. You can refresh the duration of the buff at any time by stepping into the Wintervolt machine. You can also do this to change gnomes costumes until you get one that you like. This disguise is required to complete the achievement  With a Little Helper from My Friends.

Snowball Fights

Everyone's favorite annoyance (now knockdown-free, remember), the  Snowball can be purchased from vendors or looted from piles of Holiday Snow found on the ground in the Alterac Mountains, near where you fight The Abominable Greench.

Hunt a Winter Hat

During the Feast of Winter Veil, certain humanoid bosses now sport a festive holiday hat! In 2014, this includes several Warlords of Draenor dungeon bosses as well! We will update when we can confirm what color hat drops from the Draenor mobs.

The following bosses will drop a  Green Winter Hat or  Red Winter Hat upon their defeat:

  • Jedoga Shadowseeker in Ahn'kahet: The Old Kingdom -  Red Winter Hat
  • Mage-Lord Urom in The Oculus -  Green Winter Hat
  • Grand Magus Telestra in The Nexus -  Red Winter Hat

  • Corla, Herald of Twilight in Blackrock Caverns -  Red Winter Hat
  • High Priestess Azil in The Stonecore -  Red Winter Hat
  • Admiral Ripsnarl in The Deadmines -  Red Winter Hat
  • Drahga Shadowburner in Grim Batol -  Green Winter Hat
  • Lord Godfrey in Shadowfang Keep -  Green Winter Hat

  • General Nazgrim in Siege of Orgrimmar -  Red Winter Hat
  • Galakras in Siege of Orgrimmar -  Green Winter Hat

  • The Butcher in Highmaul -  Green Winter Hat
  • Soulbinder Nyami in Auchindoun Normal and Heroic -  Green Winter Hat
  • Oshir in Iron Docks Normal and Heroic -  Green Winter Hat
  • Gug'rokk in Bloodmaul Slag Mines Normal and Heroic -  Red Winter Hat
  • Commander Tharbek in Upper Blackrock Spire Normal and Heroic -  Red Winter Hat

The winter hats also have an extremely low chance to drop from any humanoid mob in the world; I wouldn't hold your breath but who knows--you could get lucky! In previous years, heroic Northrend and normal/heroic Cataclysm dungeon bosses dropped hats. If you're unlucky winning rolls, seems your best bet is to try to solo a Northrend heroic boss.

Holiday Siegecrafter Blackfuse

It's not too soon to return to Siege of Orgrimmar and check out festive Siegecrafter Blackfuse! He's all dressed up for the holidays with lights and wreaths as decorations. His sawblades are even Christmas wreaths and the mines carry gifts.

In 2013, he was only festive on Christmas Day--hopefully he'll be festive for a longer period this year as most people are too busy to raid on Christmas.

Crafting Recipes

Players with  Leatherworking Tailoring or  Cooking receive mail from Greatfather Winter written on festive stationary. Oddly enough, the Alliance Greatfather sends the gifts to both factions - a free recipe!

  • Tailors will receive either  Pattern: Green Winter Clothes (Horde) or  Pattern: Red Winter Clothes (Alliance)

  • Leatherworkers will receive  Pattern: Winter Boots

  • Cooks will recieve  Recipe: Hot Apple Cider.

There are certain skill level requirements for each recipe to be mailed, but if for any reason you did not receive a recipe, don't worry--the recipes can be purchased at vendors in the major cities, as listed below.

There are other recipes available inside  Ticking Present (tree present) or  Smokywood Pastures Special Gift (quest reward for saving Metzen):

  • Enchanting:  Formula: Enchant Weapon - Winter's Might (snowflake glow)

  • Blacksmithing:  Plans: Edge of Winter (axe with icy glow)

  • Leatherworking:  Pattern: Gloves of the Greatfather

  • Tailoring:  Pattern: Green Holiday Shirt

  • Alchemy:  Recipe: Elixir of Frost Power

  • Engineering:  Schematic: Snowmaster 9000 (make more snowballs during the year)

All Winter Veil quests can be obtained in your faction's major city (Orgrimmaror Ironforge). Other than start/end NPCs, the quests are essentially exactly the same for both factions.

  •  Great-father Winter is Here! or  Greatfather Winter is Here!
Start: Kaymard Copperpinch or Macey Jinglepocket
End: Great-father Winter or Greatfather Winter
This quest's objective is pretty self-explanitory--simply obtain the quest from the Smokywoods Pasture vendor in any major Horde or Alliance city (except Darnassus) and head to your faction's major city to complete it. Horde players turn the quest in to the orc Great-father Winter inOrgrimmar, and Alliance players to the dwarf Greatfather Winter inIronforge. A new quest will become available:

    •  Treats for Great-father Winter or  Treats for Greatfather Winter
Start & End: Great-father Winter or Greatfather Winter
Another pretty simple quest provided you've trained Cooking and don't mind grabbing the materials for the  Gingerbread Cookie - just bring him 5 cookies and a glass of  Ice Cold Milk (which can be bought from vendors). As a reward, you will be given a  Smokywood Pastures Gift Pack which contains some low level tradeskill materials, so it's up to you whether its worth your time to give the man his cookies and milk!

  •  You're a Mean One... or  You're a Mean One...
    Start: Strange Snowman
End: Kaymard Copperpinch or Wulmort Jinglepocket
Turns out that the The Abominable Greench has stolen the treats! Slay him and retrieve the  Stolen Treats so that the Smokywood Pastures guys can get on with the holiday festivities! The Greench is a high-level elite now but fortunately, you do not need to have tagged the Greench to get credit. When he is defeated, sacks of gifts will spawn at the entrance of his cave, which anyone can loot.

Stolen Present is the reward for turning in this quest--it has a small chance to contain  Lump of Coal which summons  Lumpy! Remember, it's a daily quest in now, so you can have a shot every day at this pet. The other rewards are toy itemsJepetto Joybuzz sells.

Lumpy can be caged and sold on the AH. It is an Elemental battle pet with the following abilities:  Quake,  Rock Barrage,  Rupture,  Sandstorm,  Stone Rush,  Stone Shot.

Once you have turned in the  Stolen Treats, you will receive another quest:

    •  A Smokywood Pastures' Thank You! or  A Smokywood Pastures' Thank You!
Start: Kaymard Copperpinch or Wulmort Jinglepocket
End: Great-father Winter or Greatfather Winter
Simply speak to the Great(-)father and claim your reward! You will receive a  Smokywood Pastures Special Gift which contains a seasonal tradeskill recipe! This is the only way you can get these recipes, and the recipe you receive is random so you may be able to trade with other players or guildmates for one you might need. If you don't get the recipe you want, you can always check the Auction House or wait until next year.

Open the special gift to get one of the following recipes at random:

      •  Recipe: Elixir of Frost Power (Alchemy)
      •  Plans: Edge of Winter (Blacksmithing)
      •  Formula: Enchant Weapon - Winter's Might (Enchanting)
      •  Schematic: Snowmaster 9000 (Engineering)
      •  Pattern: Gloves of the Greatfather (Leatherworking)
      •  Pattern: Green Holiday Shirt (Tailoring)

  •  The Reason for the Season or  The Reason for the Season
    Start: Furmund or Goli Krumn
End: Sagorne Creststrider or Historian Karnik
This short quest chain intends to explain the lore behind the Feast of Winter Veil. The questgiver is located near the bank in your faction's major city, and he will send you to another NPC located within that city. Once there, you will receive a new quest:

    •  The Feast of Winter Veil or  The Feast of Winter Veil
Start: Sagorne Creststrider or Historian Karnik
End: Baine Bloodhoof or Muradin Bronzebeard
The questgiver will give you a book entitled  The Feast of Winter Veil to read, which contains some insight into the different races' celebrations of the holiday. Once you have read the book you are asked to bring it to either Baine Bloodhoof in Thunder Bluff or Muradin Bronzebeard in Ironforge, who will reward you with 500 reputation with their respective city and 125 with each other faction city.

Re: 2014 Feast of Winter Veil Guide (December 16 - January 2)

Post by Ðemì on Fri 26 Dec 2014, 8:02 pm

There are a number of items that are only available during the Feast of Winter Veil. Smokeywood Pastures vendors can be found in all major cities selling a variety of holiday goodies, including a plethora of food and drink items, wrapping paper, and even some seasonal recipes!

You might notice that some of their names seem familiar--they're based on popular retail stores. Fitting that's how goblin vendors celebrate the season.

Food & Drinks

Smokeywood Pastures food and drink vendors can be found in several major cities. Copperpinch vendors can be found in Horde cities, and the Jinglepocket vendors can be found in Alliance cities. Olnayvi Copperpinch sells food to both factions in Shattrath.

Alliance cities:

  • Ironforge: Macey Jinglepocket, The Commons

  • Stormwind City : Guchie Jinglepocket, Trade District

  • The Exodar: Bessbi Jinglepocket, Seat of the Naaru

Horde cities:

  • Orgrimmar: Kaymard Copperpinch, Valley of Strength

  • Silvermoon City: Morshelz Copperpinch, The Bazaar

  • Thunder Bluff: Whulwert Copperpinch, Lower Rise

  • Undercity: Jaycrue Copperpinch, The Trade Quarter

They sell the following items:

  •  Blended Bean Brew

  •  Green Garden Tea

  •  Sparkling Apple Cider

  •  Holiday Cheesewheel

  •  Graccu's Homemade Meat Pie

  •  Spicy Beefstick

  •  Honeyed Holiday Ham

  •  Steamwheedle Fizzy Spirits

  •  Greatfather's Winter Ale

  •  Graccu's Mince Meat Fruitcake

General Goods

Smokeywood Pastures "general goods"-style vendors can be found right next to the food/drink vendors. Copperpinch vendors can be found in Horde cities, and the Jinglepocket vendors can be found in Alliance cities. An additional Jinglepocket vendor can be found in Shattrath CityEebee Jinglepocket.

Alliance cities:

  • Ironforge: Wulmort Jinglepocket, The Commons

  • Stormwind City : Khole Jinglepocket, Trade District

  • The Exodar: Wolgren Jinglepocket, Seat of the Naaru

Horde cities:

  • Orgrimmar: Penney Copperpinch, Valley of Strength

  • Silvermoon City: Hotoppik Copperpinch, The Bazaar

  • Thunder Bluff: Seersa Copperpinch, Lower Rise

  • Undercity: Nardstrum Copperpinch, The Trade Quarter

They sell the following items:

  •  Snowball

  •  Blue Ribboned Wrapping Paper

  •  Green Ribboned Wrapping Paper

  •  Purple Ribboned Wrapping Paper

  •  Holiday Spices

  •  Holiday Spirits

  •  Candy Cane

  •  Recipe: Gingerbread Cookie

  •  Recipe: Winter Veil Egg Nog

  •  Recipe: Hot Apple Cider

  •  Gaudy Winter Veil Sweater

Be sure to stock up on the holiday wrapping paper, as it's the only time of the year you can buy it! Otherwise, you're stuck with  Red Ribboned Wrapping Paper and  Blue Ribboned Wrapping Paper from General Goods vendors throughout the year.

In addition to the seasonal goods listed above, vendors in major cities will also sell a tailoring pattern to create festive winter clothes and a leatherworking pattern to create matching boots! Remember, there's a good chance you already obtained these recipes in the mail from Greatfather Winter. Please note that these three recipes are Bind on Pickup, and as such (of course) cannot be sold or traded.

  • Alliance Vendors: Wolgren Jinglepocket in The Exodar, Wulmort Jinglepocket in Ironforge, Khole Jinglepocket in Stormwind.
  • Horde Vendors: Eebee Jinglepocket in Shattrath, Nardstrum Copperpinch in Undercity, Penney Copperpinch in Orgrimmar, Seersa Copperpinch in Thunder Bluff.

These vendors sell:

  •  Pattern: Green Winter Clothes (Horde)
  •  Pattern: Red Winter Clothes (Alliance)
  •  Pattern: Winter Boots

Recipe collectors will of course want to collect both Tailoring patterns. Since the vendors are enterprising goblins, Alliance players can pick up  Pattern: Green Winter Clothes easily by simply going to Shattrath and buying it from Eebee Jinglepocket who is neutral to both factions.

However, it is not easily possible for Horde players to obtain  Pattern: Red Winter Clothes. Horde players must sneak into Alliance cities and purchase it from either Wulmort Jinglepocket in Ironforge,Khole Jinglepocket in Stormwind, and Wolgren Jinglepocket in The Exodar.

If you aren't a crafter, the holiday clothes are not Bind on Pickup (or even Bind when Equipped) and therefore can be bought, sold and traded via the Auction House.[/size]

Another low drop from  Stolen Present is  Clockwork Rocket Bot, originally from 2007 Winter Veil. This summons the battle petClockwork Rocket Bot.

  • Clockwork Rocket Bot is an uncommon-quality Mechanical battle pet, Breed 3 B/B, with the following abilities:  Missile,  Toxic Smoke,  Sticky Grenade,  Batter,  Minefield,  Launch Rocket.

There are four pets that have a chance to be found inside  Gaily Wrapped Present (requires level 20+ to open).

If you do summon them during the holidays, they stick around and will mount up on a mini-reindeer. If you summon them at other points during the year, they have animations to hearth ( Green Helper Box), melt away ( Snowman Kit), and be less festive ( Jingling Bell).

Winter's Little Helper ( Red Helper Box): This helper is too stressed to stay long--"Helpers are very busy year-round, and only have leisure time during the Feast of Winter Veil." After scolding the player, the helper will hearth away outside of Winter Veil.

  • Winter's Little Helper is an Uncommon-quality Humanoid battle pet, Breed 3 B/B:  Call Blizzard,  Eggnog,  Gift of Winter's Veil,  Ice Lance,  Ice Tomb,  Snowball

Father Winter's Helper ( Green Helper Box): Like his red friend, this helper won't stick around outside of Winter Veil.

Tiny Snowman ( Snowman Kit): This snowman doesn't do well outside of winter--"The snowman is larger and lasts longer during Winter Veil." After several seconds in the summer, he will flop over and lose his hat.

  • Tiny Snowman is an Uncommon-quality Elemental battle pet, Breed 3 B/B:  Call Blizzard,  Deep Freeze,  Frost Nova,  Howling Blast,  Magic Hat,  Snowball

Winter Reindeer ( Jingling Bell): This reindeer "only dresses up for Winter Veil." When summoned outside of the season, it wore none of its usual holiday garb.

  • Winter Reindeer is an Uncommon-quality Critter battle pet, Breed 3 B/B:  Bleat,  Headbutt,  Hoof,  Nature's Ward,  Stampede,  Tranquility

Toybox Items

New to Warlords of Draenor is the toybox--an account-wide storage solution for many vanity items.

There are eleven items exclusive to Winter Veil presents which are toys, and a few more that can be obtained via presents as well as vendors.

  •  Crashin' Thrashin' Shredder Controller: 2014 Winter Veil Gift, contained in  Winter Veil Gift

  •  Crashin' Thrashin' Flyer Controller: 2013 Winter Veil Gift, speculated to be in  Stolen Present

  •  Fuzzy Green Lounge Cushion: Contained in  Gently Shaken Gift

  •  Safari Lounge Cushion: Contained in  Gently Shaken Gift

  •  Pineapple Lounge Cushion: Contained in  Gently Shaken Gift

  •  Zhevra Lounge Cushion: Contained in  Gently Shaken Gift

  •  Winter Veil Disguise Kit: The  Winter Veil Disguise Kit is obtained in the mail within 24 hours of completing the quest chain starting with  You're a Mean One...

  •  Crashin' Thrashin' Racer Controller: 2008 Winter Veil Gift, contained in  Stolen Present

  •  MiniZep Controller: 2010 Winter Veil Gift, contained in  Stolen Present

  •  Foot Ball: 2012 Winter Veil Gift, contained in  Stolen Present

  •  The Pigskin: 2012 Winter Veil Gift, contained in  Stolen Present

The  Stolen Present can contain toys with other sources:

  •  Tiny Blue Ragdoll, otherwise costs 10 from Toy Vendors.

  •  Tiny Green Ragdoll, otherwise costs 10 from Toy Vendors.

  •  Toy Train Set, otherwise costs 250 from Toy Vendors.

  •  Wind-Up Train Wrecker, otherwise costs 250 from Toy Vendors.

  •  Blue Crashin' Thrashin' Racer Controller, otherwise costs 40 from Toy Vendors.

The Pigskin and Football are complicated items. They appear twice in the Toy Box because there are two different versions technically in the data--one from the  Stolen Present and one from vendors. So you can collect both versions of each toy and increase your total number of toys more, even though they do the exact same thing. Do note that the ones from  Stolen Present award the special  They're Both Footballs? FoS while the vendor ones do not.

Transmog Items

New to 2014 are the addition of cosmetic socks, which can be transmogged onto any cloth, leather, mail, or plate boot.

Warm Red Woolen Socks Warm Blue Woolen Socks, and  Warm Green Woolen Socks can be found inside  Carefully Wrapped Present

The green and blue socks match Shimmering Regalia and Shimmering Regalia (Recolor) respectively.

Re: 2014 Feast of Winter Veil Guide (December 16 - January 2)

There is a player title granted to those who can obtain 11 core achievements--Merrymaker! Some are easy, and others more of a challenge, but here's everything you need to know to be on your way to becoming that much more festive.

  •  Merrymaker
This achievement can be found in the main World Events achievement category and is awarded upon completion of all but one of the Winter Veil achievements. This achievement awards the player title 'Merrymaker' and is a requirement towards completion of  What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been, which rewards  Violet Proto-Drake.

Merrymaker Achievements

  •  'Tis the Season
During the Feast of Winter Veil, wear 3 pieces of winter clothing and eat  Graccu's Mince Meat Fruitcake.
This achievement must be done during Winter Veil. You can wear any three pieces of the Winter Garb (a chest, boots and hat).

    • Hat:  Red Winter Hat or  Green Winter Hat. These are found on select Northrend heroic, Cataclysm normal and heroic bosses, Siege of Orgrimmar bosses, and Warlords of Draenor dungeon bosses. A full list is above under Festivities, and it's also a very low world drop.
    • Chest:  Red Winter Clothes or  Green Winter Clothes. These can be crafted by tailors with 250 skill or found on the AH. Alliance tailors can get both recipes easily with Eebee Jinglepocket in Shattrath selling the Horde  Pattern: Green Winter Clothes, but Horde players will have a harder time getting the  Pattern: Red Winter Clothes. This costs 4x  Bolt of Runecloth,  Bolt of Woolen Cloth,  Rune Thread, and either 2x  Red Dye or 2x  Green Dye
    • Feet:  Pattern: Winter Boots is sold by select Smokywood Pastures vendors, and is also mailed to some Leatherworkers by Greatfather Winter. It makes the stylish  Winter Boots and requires  Copper Bar,  Bolt of Woolen Cloth, 4x  Rugged Leather,  Rune Thread, as well as 285 Leatherworking to craft.
    • The  Graccu's Mince Meat Fruitcake is contained within a gift package received within 24 hours of completing either  Treats for Great-father Winter (Alliance version) or  You're a Mean One... (Alliance version)! In 2013 this is much easier to obtain--it is sold by all Copperpinch and Jinglepot vendors for 99 99 and is in the daily  Stolen Present.

  •  A Frosty Shake
During the Feast of Winter Veil, use your  Winter Veil Disguise Kit to become a snowman and then dance with another snowman in Dalaran.
For this achievement, you must obtain and use a  Winter Veil Disguise Kit to become a snowman and /dance with another snowman in Dalaran. This achievement must be done during Winter Veil.

The  Winter Veil Disguise Kit is obtained in the mail within 24 hours of completing the quest chain starting with  You're a Mean One... (Alliance version).

  •  Bros. Before Ho Ho Ho's or  Bros. Before Ho Ho Ho's
Use Mistletoe on the Horde/Alliance "Brothers" during the Feast of Winter Veil.

    • Alliance players must use  Mistletoe on the following NPCs:

Brother Kristoff (55.4, 54.6, Cathedral Square), Brother Crowley (52.6, 43.6, Cathedral Basement), Brother Benjamin(51.8, 46.8, Cathedral Ground Floor), Brother Joshua ( 49.8, 45.6, Cathedral Altar), Brother Cassius (52.2, 45.6, Cathedral Right Wing)--these NPCs are all in Stormwind City.

There's also Brother Nimetz (47.2, 11.0, Northern Stranglethorn), Brother Wilhelm (Goldshire, Elwynn Forest), andBrother Karman (Theramore, Dustwallow Marsh). To reach Brother Karman if Theramore is phased, go to Zidormi and she will take you to old Theramore.

    • Horde players must use  Mistletoe on the following NPCs:

Brother Malach (51.6, 22.6, Undercity), Durkot Wolfbrother (40.2, 55.0, Borean Tundra), Brother Keltan (Icecrown).

Brother Keltan is the trickiest for low-level players to reach since he's located on the flying Gunship and players can't summon players under 77 onto the ship. You can be summoned to the spiky mountain at the northern-most point of the Gunship's path though, and then jump over with Levitate. You can also try to chain die/rez starting from Storm Peaks, and eventually rez on the ship.

  •  Scrooge or  Scrooge
Throw a snowball at Baine Bloodhoof / Muradin Bronzebeard during the Feast of Winter Veil.
Both tauren and dwarf take Winter Veil very seriously, so what better way to show your complete lack of holiday cheer and respect than by smashing either Baine Bloodhoof or Muradin Bronzebeard in the face with a  Snowball during the Feast of Winter Veil.

Snowball are sold by Smokeywood Pastures vendors and can be found in holiday piles of snow in Winterspring, Dun Morogh, and Hillsbrad Foothills.

  •  Simply Abominable
Complete the quest to retrieve Smokywood Pastures' stolen treats and receive a Smokywood Pastures' Thank You.
This achievement is awarded upon completion of the quest chain starting with  You're a Mean One... (Alliance version) to slay The Abominable Greench and free Metzen the Reindeer. •  The Winter Veil Gourmet
During the Feast of Winter Veil, use your culinary expertise to produce a  Gingerbread Cookie,  Winter Veil Egg Nog and  Hot Apple Cider.
For this achievement, you have to cook  Gingerbread Cookie,  Winter Veil Egg Nog and  Hot Apple Cider, the latter of which requires 325 Cooking skill. Be prepared to grind your Cooking skill up if you haven't already in order to get this achievement. In Warlords of Draenor, you can level entirely through Draenor Cooking which makes it very easy.

Recipe: Gingerbread Cookie and  Recipe: Winter Veil Egg Nog can be purchased from Smokywood Pastures vendors, and  Recipe: Hot Apple Cider can either be purchased or received as a gift from Greatfather Winter, provided you have high enough Cooking skill.

  •  With a Little Helper from My Friends
Earn 50 honorable kills as a Little Helper from the Winter Wondervolt machine.
For this achievement you must earn 50 honorable kills while transformed into a Little Helper from the Winter Wondervolt machine. Remember that the disguise is lost upon death or shapeshift, so this achievement might take a few tries to accomplish, but thankfully the killing blows are cumulative --just be ready to visit the Wondervolt between battles if PvP isn't your forté.

Winter Wondervolt machines are found in the following zones:

    • Dun Morogh, Gates of Ironforge
    • The Exodar, outside, east entrance
    • Stormwind City, ramp in Trade District leading to flight master
    • Wetlands, near Menethil Harbor docks
    • Eversong Woods, by Silvermoon entrance
    • Orgrimmar, by the flight master
    • Tirisfal Glades, near eastern zeppelin tower
    • The Cape of Stranglethorn, Booty Bay docks
    • Dalaran, Runeweaver Square
    • Shattrath City, across eastern bridge over Lower City
    • Tanaris, east of Gadgetzan

Other Achievements

The following achievements are not required for  Merrymaker, but utilize holiday gifts in fun ways:

  •  The Danger Zone
Shoot down another player's Crashin' Thrashin' Flyer with yours.
This achievement was added in 2013 and requires you to use your  Crashin' Thrashin' Flyer Controller, the special 2013 gift, to shoot down another player's toy. In 2014, this is found inside  Stolen Present.

  •  A-Caroling We Will Go or  A-Caroling We Will Go
Use your  Gaudy Winter Veil Sweater to carol in enemy capital cities during the Feast of Winter Veil.
This achievement was added in 2011 and requires you to use your  Gaudy Winter Veil Sweater to carol in four enemy capital cities--it can only be completed during Winter Veil. You can fly into most of the enemy cities without dying or aggroing any guards. Make sure you don't complete  Thanks, But No Thanks, or else you'll get  Scrooge's Payoff instead of your fashionable sweater! In 2012, this item can be purchased from Smokeywood Pastures vendors.

  •  BB King or  BB King
Pelt the enemy leaders listed below.
This achievement was added in 2009's Winter Veil and can only be completed with a  Red Rider Air Rifle (obtained from the 2009 Winter Veil gift or toy vendors like Jepetto Joybuzz). You must use the gun to pelt each of the opposing faction's leaders - how mean! First snowballs, now BBs? What ever happened to respecting authority?

Note that Garrosh is no longer around, and you will have to kill Voljin for credit, as Alliance.

  •  Crashin' & Thrashin'
Gain 25 crashes with your  Crashin' Thrashin' Racer Controller during the Feast of Winter Veil.
To complete this achievement you must "crash" 25 other racers. The controller functions similar to a  Crashin' Thrashin' Robot, only with a single ability:  Racer Rocket Slam! Out-slam another player's Racer to earn a kill towards the achievement. You can battle against the same Racer multiple times to count towards this achievement, the car is (of course) not destroyed or damaged in any way and simply must be re-summoned.

This toy was initially available in 2008 from the Winter Veil presents. It now has a low chance to be found inside  Stolen Present from the daily Greench quest. Players who purchase a  Blue Crashin' Thrashin' Racer Controller from Jepetto Joybuzzand fight with it can also get the achievements.

Feats of Strength

Each year's toy has a special Feat of Strength attached to it. Players can get the toys through alternative means in 2014, which we've detailed at the top of the guide.
