Re: World of Warcraft AddOns

Rematch   5.4
Version: 2.4.6

Rematch is an addon to help create, store, recall and share battle pet teams.

Its primary purpose is to store and recall battle pets for targets. For instance:

  • When you target Aki the Chosen, bring up the Rematch window and hit Save, it will record under her name the pets you have out.
  • When you return to Aki another day, you can target her, bring up the window and hit Load to bring those pets back.

New in 2.4.6

  • Ability tooltips now look more like the pet cards.
  • New option: Larger Pet Cards for slightly bigger pet cards and ability tooltips.
  • New option: Show on Injured to show the window if any pets are injured.
  • Localization update for zhTW, zhCN.

Searches

In the search bar of the pet browser, you can not only search for names of pets and their source, but you can also search for:

  • Names of abilities ("Call Lightning")
  • Text within abilities ("Bleed")
  • Level ranges ("level=25" or "level>10" or "level=8-13")
  • Stat ranges ("health>700" or "speed=250-350" or "power>=276")

Also:

  • Searches are not case sensitive. "Bleed" will work just as well as "bleed" or "BLEED".
  • You can hit "Fill" on the leveling queue to add one of each species from your search results to the leveling queue.
  • When you look at the pet card, abilities that contain the search text will be marked with a gold ring.
  • You can also search levels, stats and text simultaneously:

    "bleed health>700 level<25" : Pets with Bleed in text that have over 700hp and are under 25.
    "level<25 bleed health>700" : Same thing. The order of search isn't important.
    "health>700 <25 bleed" : Same again. If a stat doesn't appear with a < > or =, it assumes level.

How to Use

You can summon the Rematch window several ways:

  • Set a key binding from options.
  • /rematch command.
  • The Rematch button at the bottom of the pet journal.
  • 'Use Minimap Button' in options will create a minimap button.
  • From its LDB button if you use a Broker bar addon.
  • Have 'Auto Show' checked in options and target something for which you have a saved team that's not already loaded.

As mentioned at the top, this addon's primary purpose is to save for targets. Target an NPC, click Save, and a team is saved for that target.

  • If you don't have an NPC targeted, 'Save' will turn to 'Save As' and if clicked it will ask for a name for the team.
  • If you name a team the same as a player, it will react to that player just like an NPC.
  • You can bring up a list of teams you've saved by clicking the pullout button at the bottom.

Pet Browser

Rematch has a pet browser you can open alongside the main window for help creating your teams. You can open it with the 'Pets' button on the main window, or by setting up a key binding in the default key binding interface.

Some advantages it has over the default pet journal:

  • You can search the names of abilities or text within abilities.
  • You can search for level and stat ranges.
  • In addition to filtering pets by type, you can filter by 'Strong vs': if you filter Strong vs Dragonkin, it will list all pets with magic attacks.
  • You can also filter to pets that are Tough vs a type of attack: filtering Tough vs Elemental will list all critters.
  • A 'Type Bar' to filter by the various types without going through the dropdown menus.
  • A counter at the bottom of the browser tells you how many pets are listed: search =25 and you'll see how many level 25 pets you own.
  • If Jump to Key is enabled, you can hit a letter and it will jump to the next pet that begins with that letter.

To clear filters, you can click the little X button in the search box or the type bar, or you can click the X along the bottom when filters are applied. You can also click 'Reset All' within the filters menu. Closing the browser itself will also clear most filters.

Leveling Pets

Thanks to suggestions from Behub, Aloek and others, Rematch has a robust system to make leveling pets easy.

In the pullout drawer there is a leveling slot with a shiny gold border. You can drag a pet here to mark it as your leveling pet. (You can also right-click a pet elsewhere like in the journal and choose 'Start Leveling')

  • Any teams saved with a leveling pet will reserve that pet's slot for future leveling pets.
  • When you see a shiny gold border around a pet anywhere in Rematch, it means that is a leveling pet.

So if you save teams for various tamers with the leveling pet loaded, when you return to those tamers later with a different leveling pet, it will load that new leveling pet in their saved places.

The Leveling Queue

In addition to the gold-bordered leveling slot in the pullout drawer, there is a leveling queue you can store any number of pets that you intend to level.

As soon as your current leveling pet reaches 25 (gratz!), if there are any leveling pets waiting it will swap the top-most pet in the queue to the leveling slot.

In the pullout control panel in the queue you can also:

  • Sort the queue by level: ascending (level 1 to 25), descending (25 to 1) or median (closest to level 10.5).
  • Create your own order by dragging pets around and inserting them between other pets.
  • Use the Auto Rotate option to move to a new pet in the queue after each successful pet battle.
  • Click the Fill button to fill the queue from pets in the browser. For instance, search "21-24", filter for Rare and hit Fill to add 21-24 rare pets to the leveling queue.
  • Click Empty button to empty the queue. It will ask for confirmation but in options you can turn confirmations off.
  • If you want to switch to another pet for one fight without changing the order, right-click the pet and choose start leveling. You can also double-click a pet in the queue to make it the current leveling pet. Or you can drag it to the leveling slot.
  • When the window is collapsed, if the leveling pet is loaded, you can navigate around the queue with previous/next buttons when you mouseover the leveling pet.

Sharing Teams

There are two ways to share battle pet teams when you right-click it in the pullout drawer:

  • The Send option to send a team to someone online on your faction.
  • The Export option to create a WeakAuras-like text string that you can copy/paste.

When a user receives a team that you Send, they'll receive a popup displaying the team with the option to save it.

To use an Export string, click the Import button in the pullout drawer and paste the string. You can review the team before saving it.

If you receive or import a team that includes pets you don't have, that's fine. They'll be greyed out and only the pets you have will attempt to load. You can keep the team as is for the day when you get the pet, or you can choose to save over it if you find a suitable substitute for the missing pet.

Note: Battle.net and RealID are not supported yet, sorry. It will happen in a future update. But you can send to Name-Realm if they're on the same faction.

Miscellaneous

  • The "tooltip" for pets is a card with stats. Hold Alt to flip the card over for more about your pet. Click the pet to lock the card in place so you can mouseover abilities.
  • When the card is locked and has a wooden frame around it, you can unlock it several ways: clicking one of the little screws on the corner, clicking the pet again from where you locked it, hitting ESCape or any other action that dismisses the card.
  • You can Rename, Delete, Send or Export a team by right-clicking it in the pullout drawer.
  • When a team is selected, the little window to the right of your saved pets lists the types your team is strong against, sorted by the number of strong attacks loaded on your team. Abilities that don't attack are excluded.
  • Teams with white names have an NPC ID stored in them to focus its target awareness to that NPC ID. If they have a gold name then any target of that name is considered its target.
  • This addon will peacefully co-exist with all other battle pet addons. If the addon is installed it will pull breed information from Battle Pet Breed ID.
  • You can shift-click pets and abilities to chat like you can from the pet journal.
  • You can manually edit the names at the start of an import string to save it under a different name.
  • The Escape key will pull back most panels opened within the addon. For instance, if you pull up the Rematch window, open the drawer and go into options: hitting escape will close options and return to the drawer, hitting escape again will collapse the drawer, and hitting escape again will close the window.
  • Clicking a pet or one of its abilities will jump to that pet in the Pet Journal.
  • You can view or rearrange pets in the leveling queue by moving the mouse over the leveling slot in the pullout drawer.
  • If you have the addon Pet Battle Teams enabled, "/rematch import" will import your PBT teams into Rematch.

Roth UI (Diablo)

5.4 [/size]Version: 50400.06[/size]
INTRO
Hi there. This is my Diablo themed interface for World of Warcraft, called Roth UI. Enjoy.
Since more and more leaked downloads of my interface appear on the internet, please remember: There is only one official download of the Roth UI. And that is this one, on wowinterface.com. All other downloads available are leaked and are not officially supported by me.
Only this one is ZORKIFIED!
INSTALLATION GUIDE
If you are a first time Roth UI user you may want to check the tutorial video from Tachi showing the installation process.
How To Install and Configure Roth UI

  1. Open your World of Warcraft folder.
  2. Backup your "Interface" folder. (Copy it somewhere save!)
  3. Now: Delete the "Interface" folder inside your World of Warcraft folder.
  4. Download Roth UI and save the ZIP-file to your Desktop.
  5. The ZIP-file includes a "Interface" and a "Fonts" folder. Copy both folders into your World of Warcraft folder.
  6. Start World of Warcraft. (If you had it open while copying, restart it now to load the textures.)
  7. Before logging in make sure all the addons are activated correctly.
  8. Login and have fun playing!

ORB CONFIG
When patch 5.2 hit the live servers a new version of oUF_Diablo was applied. Large parts of oUF_Diablo got rewritten, that includes large parts of the config.lua containing the orb animation settings. Most of those settings can then be changed via ingame config. The config can be accessed via

/diablo config

If you need a tutorial video check out Cryptus Roth UI tutorial video for 5.2
Roth UI config tutorial on YouTube by Cryptus
Another tutorial by Julien for Roth UI 5.2 in French:
[Guide] Addon Roth UI (interface diablo pour wow)

FAQ - PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING!

  1. Do not use any auto updater for addons in this compilation, they can mess stuff up.
  2. If you don't like the scaling or something doesn't fit, hit the escape-key while in-game and go to the graphic settings. Now activate the UI-scaling checkbox and move the slider. Hit OK and see what you got. Move it until you like the settings.
    Same goes for the chat. If it doesn't fit just right-click the chat-tab. Unlock the chat and move it around until you feel comfortable.

  3. Only want to change the scale of the bottom bar panel and the actionbars? Read this FAQ
  4. How to change / disable the fluid orb animation system? Type in /diablo config
  5. How to move frames??? Read this FAQ

Re: World of Warcraft AddOns

I'm currently investigating nameplates on patch 5.4 ptr.

Default nameplates:
This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1680x1050.

rDiabloPlates enabled:
This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1680x1050.

rDiabloPlates enabled ... everything removed, healthbar texture replaced
This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1680x1050.

So actually I gain fps on the last screenshot. I think the fps drop is not an issue with the nameplate addons in general. I think it has sth to do with how many objects you create etc.

So one has to be very carefully when building nameplate addons. They can eat your fps alive.

Currently investigating all that stuff a little bit more.

I'll look into this. Something else I've noticed on the last couple of patches though - when you have certain UI panels open, like the friends list, even without addons your fps can drop dramatically for no apparent reason. Ever seen that?

Re: World of Warcraft AddOns

Post by Nightmare on Thu 05 Jun 2014, 9:50 pm

I ran into this in my map project when I tried to draw very large numbers of textures and font strings at once. Just having them on-screen caused a noticeable dip in the frame rate, but attempting to move the frame they were attached to practically froze the game.

I had created many font strings as labels for various POIs on the map..
This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1106x819.

And displaying them for the entire continent greatly impacted frame rates.
This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1106x819.

However, since you could both drag and zoom the map, it quickly became obvious that moving or scaling the frame caused exponentially more of a problem for FPS.

When I adjusted the script to hide the labels while dragging, and showing them when finished, it completely solved the problem. As long as the regions aren't visible while they're being repositioned they have almost no impact on the frame rate.

This leads me to believe that simply recalculating the positions of the regions isn't the problem, but redrawing them every time they move is. Therefor, if you can limit how often they're redrawn you should be able to limit the impact on frame rate.

This may not make any sense, but instead of anchoring your nameplates directly to the existing one, try attaching them to the WorldFrame and using an OnUpdate script to reposition them only once per frame.

The author of kui nameplates uses this method to keep their nameplates pixel perfect, although an unexpected side effect is higher frame rates.

Alright, I wrote a small proof of concept that demonstrates just how much of a difference hiding the frame before you reposition it makes, even if it makes no visible difference in-game.
Lua Code:

  1. local Nameplates, PreviousWorldChildren = {}, 0 -- Table to hold our list of detected nameplates
  2. WorldFrame:HookScript('OnUpdate', function(self)
  3.     local currentWorldChildren = self:GetNumChildren()
  4.     if currentWorldChildren ~= PreviousWorldChildren then PreviousWorldChildren = currentWorldChildren
  5.         for _, plate in pairs({self:GetChildren()}) do
  6.             if not Nameplates[plate] then -- Check if it's already been seen
  7.                 local name = plate:GetName()
  8.                 if name and strmatch(name, '^NamePlate%d+$') then -- Test that it's a nameplate
  9.                     Nameplates[plate] = CreateFrame('frame', nil, WorldFrame) -- Record our new frame
  10.                     for i = 1, 500 do -- Make a bunch of regions for a stress test
  11.                         local fs = Nameplates[plate]:CreateFontString(nil, nil, 'GameFontNormalHuge')
  12.                         fs:SetText('LAG')
  13.                         fs:SetPoint('CENTER', math.random(-50,50), math.random(-12,12)) -- This is just to make it look more interesting
  14.                     end
  15.                 end
  16.             end
  17.         end
  18.     end
  19.     for plate, f in pairs(Nameplates) do -- Iterate over existing nameplates every frame
  20.         if plate:IsShown() then -- Check visibility
  21.             f:Hide() -- Try commenting this out and see what happens to your frame rate
  22.             f:SetSize(plate:GetSize()) -- This isn't necessary to call every update but it simplifies the example
  23.             f:SetPoint('CENTER', WorldFrame, 'BOTTOMLEFT', plate:GetCenter()) -- Position our frame relative to the nameplate
  24.             f:Show()
  25.         else -- Hide if nameplate is hidden
  26.             f:Hide()
  27.         end
  28.     end
  29. end)

You can forget about repositioning the frame OnUpdate without hiding it first, it doesn't seem to make as much of a difference as I thought. On the other hand, this trick seems to make a huge difference.

The only downside is it lags one frame behind the default nameplate, but maybe there's a way to overcome that.

There are 2000 font strings per nameplate in this screenshot, and while it has dropped my frame rate down to around 15 fps I can still smoothly rotate the camera and run around without any issues. Attaching them directly to the nameplate completely freezes the game in this same test.

Nice Damage (font)
Version: 1.4
Download

Got bored of original WoW damage font?
Well, this addon contains 8 additional fonts for your leet damage!

Screenshot with each font can be seen on the panel on the right >.>

Originally it uses Font #1, see readme.txt for instructions about font swapping.

Known issues:
Font #6 does not display letters (PARRY and such). Well, it does, in fact, but it looks bad.
Will not work [correctly] with other than EN language packs.

SanUI
5.4

Version: 5.4.1.1
SanUI

(2 MB)
Download

This is an interface for the raiding druid, integrating all specs. Works for other classes, though a bit more configuration is neccessary (I'll help). It supposedly only works if your monitors resolution is at least 1280 x 1024 by virtue of Tukui. Suggestions and criticism welcome

After your first login
[/size]

  • The installation procedure of Tukui will start. Just klick "Ok" (or whatever's there for you) 4 times and let it reload your UI.
  • Type "/moveui" to move different aspects of the UI.
  • Configuration of Tukui (particularly the UI-Scale) can be done via typing "/tukui"
  • Besides the minimap is a box with an 'a'. Click it, a menu will appear. You can switch Modes there. Access to different addon configurations can be configured in SanUI/profiles.lua (dbm, altoholic and the world pvp frame visibility are configured as examples).

More on Usage

  • SimpleAuraFilter let's you reclaim your buff area by filtering. Simply shift-rightclick any buff you don't want to see anymore. It will be cancelled in this process, but never again show up, even if you have it. Note that there different profiles for Healer, Chicken, Bear and Cat mode, which have to be configured separately (just activate the right mode and go nuts shift-rightclicking).
  • Directly below the minimap to the left there's a box saying something like "1 Problem". That's from Energized. Mouseover to see the tooltip (which buffs you're missing from the group you're in).
  • On the right hand side of Skada's main window, there's a little cube. Right-click it to reset Skada's data, left-click to toggle Skada's visibility.
  • Click stuff. There are a lot of menus, go find them (special hint: middle and right mouseclick on the minimap).

Configuration

About Config\profiles.lua: Its purpose is to support user-made modes. A mode is a state of the UI consisting of several profiles for different addons or parts of the UI. It's commented well, so read there (and I'll help via forums). Important: If you're not a druid, you probably want to edit this. If you need help, let me know though the forum.

FAQ

  • Q: Is this a complete interface for a raider?
  • --> A: Probably not. You might at least want a boss mod, clique, and bugsack/buggrabber.
  • Q: In your screenshot, some of your actionbuttons glow. Mine don't. What's up with that?
  • --> A: You need to install Tukui_ActionHighlight (available on tukui.org) for that.
  • Q: You've skinned CoolLine and Skada. Will there be problems with AddOnSkins Tukui?
  • --> A: No. I did test, and nothing bad happens. You might want to disable the CoolLine and Skada skins of AddOnSkins Tukui, otherwise those will be skinned twice. That's not a real problem though, so if you like it that way, keep them enabled.

Included addons and credit

  • From http://tukui.org: Tukz (Tukui), Safturento (Tukui_Addon_Menu), FourOne (Tukui_Filger), Ztango (Tukui_Broker), Elv (Skada skin code), Tacsko (Tukui_Coolline)
  • From http://wowace.com: Allara (Energized), Zarnivoop (Skada)
  • From http://wowinterface.com: ngollon (SimpleAuraFilter, port to 4.0 and further by me), hankthetank and gwyd (oUF_hank_v3), hungtar (oUF GCD), kameelyan (ouf_bossbars), totalpackage (CoolLine)

Font Replacer
Version: 1.0.1

Download
Font Replacer is a simple Windows application to change the default World of Warcraft fonts.

What does it do?

It provides a simple drag-and-drop interface for replacing World of Warcraft's default fonts:

  • Main UI Font (like NPC/Characters names, buffs, etc.);
  • Normal numbers font (font for combat text);
  • Huge numbers font (for crit numbers text);
  • and font for mail, quest log, etc.

How to use it?

  1. Drag and drop your font into the application's window;
  2. Check the fonts you want to replace (By default all fonts are checked);
  3. Click "Replace Fonts" button.

That's it.

If you want to return your previous font, check your WoW installation's [/size]"Fonts/backup" folder for backups. To set Blizzard's default fonts just delete [/size]"Fonts" folder.

Requirements.

The application requires .NET Framework 3.0 installed on your computer.
If you are using Vista or Windows 7, Font Replacer will work out of the box. If you are Windows XP user, you may need to install it. You can download redistributable package
[size=13]here

Afterword

I will be happy to hear your feedbacks. And bugreports, if you find any bugs.

Version History

1.0.1: A small bugfix, Main UI font will be changed as required
