Setting up the microphone

Setting up the microphone

Part One: Connection

First you need to take the microphone and connect it to your computer. Then run the file "voice_tweak.exe" at the root of HL and make sure it works.
Be careful with the volume - the average is enough. Now run any Mod (for example, CS), and call Scoreboard (usually caused by pressing "Tab"). In front of his name, you should see a little gray drawing of the speaker.
Now write "bind CapsLock + voicerecord" in the console. Note that the "CapsLock" spelled that way, not as a "Caps Lock".
Once you have done all these operations, press CapsLock and say something into the microphone. At the same dynamics in the gray image Scoreboard should change to blue.
Caution: Do not release the key until the END OF SENTENCES. YOU STILL KEEP heard only CapsLock pressed.
Update: the same key, you can CapsLock bindi any other convenient for you the key to activate voice chat.

Part Two: Multiplayer using voice chat

Select any server (preferably on it were the players) and connect to it. Say something into the microphone. For example: "Can you hear me?" Wait for an answer. If you say that your words are illegible, increase the sound level of your microphone. If you respond that your speech is like a total gibberish and does not resemble a human, you have a big problem. Read Part 3.
Is there a way to plug a particularly obnoxious player who interferes with your game, your cries in the chat. Call Scoreboard pressing the Tab key and click once with the mouse. A cursor will appear. Move the cursor to the speaker icon next to the player and an annoying click. It's for you zamolknet.
Similarly, in falling ignore players can "turn on".

Part Three: problems with voice chat

Problems with voice chat? Here is a list of possible reasons:
You sound card on the bus ISA? ISA and voice chat will not work together.
If you do not know what you audio card on a bus, but suspect that the ISA, open the computer case and see how long that part of the motherboard, which, in fact, the card is plugged. If longer than a cell phone Nokia 5110/3210/3310 - this is likely, ISA. We'll have to buy a new motherboard. Most integrated sound cards do not work with voice chat.
If your voice sounds strange, try to repeat the operation beginning with the microphone and start voice_tweak.exe. It is important to catch the microphone correctly.
If the game does not work the key that you bind a voice chat, open the directory HL, then the directory Mod (eg CS), open the config.cfg file and add the line:
bind "CapsLock" "+ voicerecord"
Note: This bind can destroy what has been previously probindeno.
If you are still not gone, write down the details of your sound card, go to the forums HL, CS and other mods, and ask the players with the same sound card - if they have problems and how they solve them. :
